A growing blog/website dedicated to the Australian Capital Territory – Australia’s Capital Country.

The ACT may be small in comparison to many of Australia’s states and territories but it packs a lot it. The fantastic mix of culture, entertainment, government and commerce makes the ACT a great place to visit and to live. Real estate can be expensive and it certainly pays to compare home loans before jumping in.

Well known for its many national attractions like the War Memorial, Parliament House and the National Gallery, Canberra packs a real punch when it comes to international places of interest.

However the ACT (www.act.gov.au) is more than Canberra and this site will cover the sights and sounds of Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberrra, Belconnen and Fyshwick and the snowfield beyond like Mount Selwyn and Thredo. With Batemans Bay also round the corner there’s lots to do in the ACT!

Friday in Canberra

Well it’s Friday and it’s pretty damn cold! Heard there have been some good falls on the ski slopes so if you’re heading down to the snow to Perisher, Thredbo or Mt Selwyn, I think you’ll be in for a treat!

New stadium for Canberra

As part of the 2018-2022 World Cup bid, Australia has pledged over $2b towards infrastructure – including a state of the art stadium for Canberra.

Not only would this be a win for the great city but it’s also a win for the world’s greatest game – football. Whilst NRL appeals to bogans and illiterate peasants, football is a much more complex game with subtlety and strategy that proves its endurance. Let’s hope this bid is successful and we can indeed look forward to a new stadium in the ACT!
